HEA's 2010 Conference
This year's conference will be held in San Antonio, Texas, on Columbus Day weekend (Saturday-Monday, October 9-11, 2010). There'll be lots of support, new people to meet, old friends to visit with, stories, sharing, laughter and a few tears, plus real Texas barbeque! The signup form will be online soon.

HEA Membership

If you believe that HEA provides valuable services to you, please seriously consider supporting our efforts by becoming a member today.

Basic membership costs just $36 per year with other levels of membership available for those who are able to pay more. You may pay your membership fee by mailing us a check or through PayPal. Fees can be paid once a year in a lump sum or in monthly installments (available through PayPal only).

PayPal is a secure online payment system where you can use any of the major credit cards. Those people who live outside of the United States are encouraged to use PayPal, since our bank sometimes refuses to accept checks drawn on non-US banks.

 

Increasing Our Membership Numbers Is Vital

Membership numbers are increasing but still too low. We need to increase our membership numbers to maintain our status as a non-profit organization. Plus, we need increased membership numbers to be taken seriously by grant-giving institutions (and we need grant money to stay strong as an organization).

Anyone who uses the Message Board or Chat Rooms, reads our newsletter, or attends our conference and other events should be a member.

  • Members help HEA keep its non-profit status.
  • Members give grant-giving institutions reasons to believe that HEA is a viable organization providing necessary services to its community.
  • Members enable HEA to provide education and outreach services, such as this website, that help conquer the feelings of isolation and fear expressed by many in our community.
  • Members receive a $25 discount on conference registrations.
  • Members are eligible to vote at the annual business meeting and other elections.
  • Members are eligible to become members of the HEA Board.
  • Membership contributions are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law.
