Our Mission

HEA is committed to providing the following services to our members, friends and the general public:

• We create and nourish a community that erodes the isolation and shame brought about by hypospadias and epispadias.
• We act as a center of information and experience for parents and adults who are considering the available treatment options.
• We provide a forum for an open exchange of information between the hypospadias/epispadias community and our health care providers.
• We educate the public at large about the prevalence of these conditions and remove their stigma.

Please note: To use the chat room software, you must have
Java Runtime on your computer. If you don't have it, or if you're not sure
if you have it, go here to check and, if necessary, download and install it.

Also, you must have javascript enabled. Go here to see if your computer
has javascript enabled and how to enable it if it isn't.
Most modern computers come with javascript enabled.

We are trying out new chat room software. Apparently our old software company has gone out of business.

Please wait for 20-30 seconds before the log-in "screen" appears below.

When the log-in screen appears below, type in a username. Usernames are not saved--you do not need to remember it for your next chat session.

The Chat Room itself now replaces the log-in screen. The list of people in the chat room is on the right, everyone's comments are on the left, and a box on the bottom is where you enter your remarks (click on "Send" when you're ready to send your remarks to the chat room). You can check out some of the options in the menus. If you wish to leave the chat room, click on the "Action" menu and choose "Exit" or close the web page.

If this software works out, I'll be putting up more detailed instructions so you can use all the bells and whistles.--Betty
